How do you know if your cat’s food is balanced?
Look for a statement from the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) on the package.
This would give you the assurance
that the food is complete and balanced, and the recipe meets every cats’ nutritional requirements, and you don’t need any extra vitamins.
You are what you eat is true for our cats too. Their diet should provide them with:
from a named meat, fish, or poultry source
an essential amino acid
Certain other vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and fatty acids
Necessary for their digestive system
Benefits of Dry, and Canned food:
To make eating interesting and not creating a finicky eater, variety is important.
Dry food is convenient, and can be left out, Canned food contains water, and many cats do not drink water regularly. And if you have an indoor cat make sure he or she gets plenty of play time.
