I took one of my cheese platters and put together a candle centerpiece for fall. I had picked up a bag of faux pears and apple and pumpkin-shaped candles from Michaels store. Added a few cinnamon sticks and arranged them in between the candles. Of course all colors of fall🍁
To change a room, I start with a flower arrangement. I enjoy fresh-cut flowers more than green plants since they can change by season and how I plan on making my room present itself. I know sometimes it can be an expensive task, but I have also picked up some very useful techniques to cut down my flower expenses. In spring I enjoy tulips, daffodils, and my favorite spring flower hyacinths. As days get warmer, mums, daisies, chamomile, peonies…
In Summer I love the pure white petals of gardenias and the compact arrangement I can create with these beautiful blooms. Roses, in cool colors of pink and white, sunflowers, and dahlias in vibrant colors. Summer is also the one season I have more blooms in my garden than any other season, which keeps my flower expenses to a minimum. But to have flowers all year round, and for special occasions, like birthdays, or when I am entertaining our families, I can pick up several bunches of flowers from trader Joe’s and put together several arrangements for every room of my house. It might sound like more work, but this way not only do I get the chance to be creative, but I am also picking up flowers that I enjoy having in my house. No pre-arranged bouquets!
You can watch me arrange flowers that I plan I placing on our dining room table for Mother’s Day ❤️ I hope you enjoy it 💐 https://youtube.com/shorts/zsTgsVLw0LU?feature=share
When we picked up our Christmas tree, I also picked up an arm full of clippings. I wanted to use them in decorating my mail box, the living room and the dining room. Also Adding trimmings ( Faux red berries, and pinecones) that I had saved from last year’s Christmas wreaths. I thought they would add texture, color, and dimension to the all green clippings.
I put on my garden gloves, since I was getting sap all over my hands, and started layering the branches. Included smaller branches to cover some empty spots, and added pinecones and the berries in between the greens. Later I add another layer of Christmas ball ornaments and a string of lights.
Just to see different looks, later I added poinsettia plants, my small decorative Christmas trees, and just making it colorful, bright, and sparkly I also added mercury candle holders in silver, gold, and green.
All together 5 looks for a very warm, colorful, holiday season decor. you can watch my video on how I put together everything on the fireplace mantle and my dining buffet table. it’s always fun to change the look and feel of our house as the seasons change, especially when the cold season is right around the corner. I always plan on making some subtle changes. today I used some of my colorful, cozy and warm Accent pillows to change the look of the living room, the sitting room, and the kitchen. As the weather gets colder we spend more time indoors, and it is nice to have soft blankets, fury pillows, for those moments when we are ready to sit, and relax.

Saffron crocus, from the Iris family, is a beautiful flower that produces Stigma, as we also know as saffron. The threads of saffron added to chicken or red meat produces a beautiful orange color, and sweet fragrance that makes any dish absolutely beautiful, and delicious. Since harvesting saffron is a difficult process, a small amount as little as .025oz can cost around $10.00. I have watched my grandmother, and mom cook with saffron all my life, and when I was little loved the responsibility of preparing saffron, by crushing it, and pouring it into a dish or adding it later for its color to chicken or rice.
Fortunately saffron is used in very small amounts, and a pinch (only 3-4 threads) is all you need for a platter of rice, and only a teaspoon for a pot of sauce. Saffron is high in antioxidants, helps depression, PMS symptoms, and helps with healthy vascular system.
