Enjoying Spring🌷

It is still spring, and most of us up to now have enjoyed pleasant weather.

This weekend we are worried about tornadoes and severe rain, but having to stay home & staying in touch with the news & being more aware, hopefully more of us will spend this weekend in the safety of our homes. Easter celebrations was less entertaining & more of a reminder of how much the world around us has come to a slow crawl.

Heavy rain kept us inside, so we didn’t see the Easter bunny. But the sweet bunny left us a beautiful basket filled with everyone’s favorite candy. Our lunch with the family and grandparents was less formal, and we had everyone on face time instead of having everyone over at our house for Easter celebrations.

We managed to take more photos of spring blooms, before they are blown away by heavy rain, and know next year our photos will have our grandparents with us, eating, laughing, and sitting next to each other.🌞

A One of a Kind Farmers Market

With unique ingredients and organic recipes, the Santa Fe farmers market is one of the most famous markets in the Southwest.

We start by strolling through the beautiful market’s pastry and bread vendors, enjoying the natural colors of hand died yarns. The fragrance of lavender hand made soaps and moisturizers is very present.

Take a large shopping bag with you because you won’t go home empty handed.

Creating warm & cozy spots at home

I don’t think anyone will argue with me when I say nothing keeps you warm like wool.

If you live in a city that experiences a true winter with snow pouring down for days and never seems to melt till March, you think about fabrics that keep you warm all the time.

This winter I decided to purchase the plush blankets or faux furs that are very soft and come in many beautiful colors. To creat warm cozy places I covered most of our sitting places with them.

I still have our wool blankets, we need to stay warm, but fury and soft can be very comforting too.🌞 Wishing everyone a cozy winter❄️

Jolly cupcakes

Gingerly driving the Jolly cupcakes to school🤣

Every year during the holiday season my daughter’s school encourages all students to contribute to their chosen charities.

Students, bake, cook, do crafts, sell paintings, just about absolutely anything their heart desires to make some money for their charities.

Marketplace at school is an exciting day, and a learning experience. Students get the chance to learn about helping others, organizing their time, creating something that others want to buy, and learn about marketing their products.

This year my daughter with her best friend decided on baking cupcakes with flavors of the season. Minty wonderland, caroling coffee, ginger bells, and fa la la vanilla. After spending an entire Saturday afternoon baking, they had 40 cupcakes ready for sale. And the night before the market, couple of hours was spend making beautiful, delicious frosting in holiday colors.

After driving to school, very cautiously, and an hour early to grab a good table, they were ready to sell.💰

The jolly cupcakes were a hit.🧁🧁😋👍

Fresh Herb plants as gifts

Rosemary and thyme plants are two of my favorites, and have a beautiful flowing shape. To cover the pots first wrap them with colorful gift wraps, and add ribbons and ornaments for more color and shine.

Herbs are also great hostess gifts.

Are you looking to buy a sweater?

Madewell

Madewell cable sweater

You are in luck because every style is in for fall & winter. Oversized or cropped sweaters, slim cut cashmeres, and chunky popcorn knits are also very in for this winter.

I personally love big cable sweaters (sort of a fisherman’s look) and when I need to dress up a bit, a very thin cashmere keeps me warm, and I also add layers for a more stylish look.

Long sweaters are always stylish since you can wear them with leggings, wide-legged pants, or skirts.

Cropped sweaters are a cool look and it is still in for this winter  and a much better look to me unless your belly button is peeking out.

Colors are also a very important aspect of clothing, so remember rust colors are in this year.
