Creating warm & cozy spots at home
I don’t think anyone will argue with me when I say nothing keeps you warm like wool.
If you live in a city that experiences a true winter with snow pouring down for days and never seems to melt till March, you think about fabrics that keep you warm all the time.
This winter I decided to purchase the plush blankets or faux furs that are very soft and come in many beautiful colors. To creat warm cozy places I covered most of our sitting places with them.
I still have our wool blankets, we need to stay warm, but fury and soft can be very comforting too.🌞 Wishing everyone a cozy winter❄️

Reviving your old shoes
I love my worn shoes. They fit just fine and look like my feet. Buying shoes is never easy for me, since I have wide feet, and I am just too picky when it comes to shoes. I love shoes, but dislike shoe shopping.
So I take very good care of my shoes, by repairing the soles and polishing my own shoes.
I know polishing shoes probably sounds strange to some of you, but I find it extremely relaxing and rewarding.
One day shopping for shoe polish a gentleman looking at the same shoe polish asked me which brand my husband preferred ? When I told him I was the shoe polisher at our home he laughed at me, and walked away telling me he married the wrong woman.
Any ways from the smell of the shoe polish to running the brush over the leather I find the entire experience fun. But don’t take my word for it. You might have to give it a try to understand the joy of making your worn out shoes looking new again.
Who knows? You might even give up shoe shopping to shoe preserving. 👍

Fresh Herb plants as gifts
Herbs have a wonderful fragrant, and add so much flavor to any food. I have used herb plants as center pieces for many years, and this year offered them as gifts to our thanksgiving guests.
Rosemary and thyme plants are two of my favorites, and have a beautiful flowing shape. To cover the pots first wrap them with colorful gift wraps, and add ribbons and ornaments for more color and shine.
Herbs are also great hostess gifts.
Healthy, Delicious & fast
It is time to eat, and it is not just you starving but your loved ones are looking at you as if you had already planned the next meal and are ready to present them with a new and delicious spread that will please everyone’s taste buds.
I experience this more than a few times a week and since I constantly preach healthy eating, I can not bring myself to frozen meals or ordering in. So my weapon of pleasing is preparing salads with everyone’s favorite ingredients.
Salads served hot or cold With or without meat with loads of everyone’s favorite veggies, fruits ( dried or fresh) nuts, and simple dressings like olive oil with lemon and salt, oil and vinegar.
To keep my salads exciting I often use left over salmon, chicken or beef. For vegetables & fruits : beets, turnips, celery, mango, pomegranate seeds to give it an exotic twist.
Last nights dinner was salad served hot with chicken, farfalle Pasta, corn, peas, broccoli, asparagus, mozzarella chunks drizzled with glazed vinger, salted sunflower seeds, wild rice with a good sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. It was a winner and the leftovers will be great too.

Saving money starting in September👍
Every year as sept comes around we start moving things around in our house. Tidying organizing replacing a few pieces of furniture trying to give our home a fresh look.
We are not alone, since the holiday season is just around the corner and families visit and entertain more during this time of the year we also tend to do more around the house.
With the end of the year closing, in this is a good time to purchase broadway tickets ( less tourism demand ) furniture such as TVs, mattresses, patio furniture, & cars. Anything that is not in sync with fast changing technology will see a price reduction.
So if you are the non procrastinator and can keep a secret, go shopping early for the holiday season. You can score a lot of points with a new car under the tree👍😆
Steps to take when your purse or wallet are stolen🙁

Our car was broken into & of course the only item gone was the purse. So for the past two days we have been busy getting a driver license, credit cards, insurance cards, and taking the right steps to secure our identity.
our very first steps were:
Step 1- canceling credit cards
Step 2- calling the police so they can issue a report
Step 3- calling the US post office to alert them in case anyone tries to change our address.
Step 4- placing a security alert on our identity by calling:

Thieves are extremely knowledgeable these days and go to extreme measures to use your credit cards. While talking to the police officer we received a call from the purse thief, disguised as someone from our credit card co.
The person on the line told us our credit cards were being used and wanted to make sure the activity was normal, and if not he could cancel the cards & asked for our pin #.
Doubting the caller ( since we knew our cards were cancelled promptly ) and Knowing we should never give out our pin# we ended the call.
Next day we called the credit card fraud line and shared our story with them.
There are tracking devices that can locate lost keys or lost luggage in another state. From the time we left our car with no purse on our shoulder, it took the thief less than ten minutes to break the car window grab the purse that was hidden away & disappear. If we had a tracking device in the purse the police would have been able to locate our stolen property.
With new GPS tools it would be possible to track a stolen purse or a wallet.
Trakdot, Waldo and Tile Slim available for tracking a lost luggage or a wallet are already in the market and the cost is somewhere from $30-$50.
Maybe investing in one would be a good idea.👍
Tidying up
Something about the end of summer, and kids going back to school that cranks up our enthusiasm in organizing, and cleaning up our house.
Linen closet, closets, kitchen pantry, kitchen cabinets, book shelves, the garage…..
It all starts when we start going through all the paper, art work, school projects, summer camp crafts, that we have collected for months and they have no longer a shelf space to live on.
