Ten years ago my parents gave me a fig tree to plant in the back yard. It nearly died one year and bounced back, and grew to a 10 feet tree. I guess it needed time, getting used to the garden, and making friendships with the surrounding trees such as the dogwood, and the parade of squirrels, and birds, and the families of cardinals flying over, and landing on its branches.
Every year or so my fig tree, decides to offer me a few figs, and my goodness they are big, beautiful, and not too sweet. I get busy making salads, fig and peanut butter sandwiches, appetizers, and cook a few to top ice cream and pancakes. A few days ago I picked a few for a quick salad. Feta cheese and glazed balsamic. It was beautiful and delicious. Thank you my beautiful fig tree👩🏻🍳😘
Just to mention a few benefits of figs, beside being delicious : high in fiber, and antioxidants, high calcium helps with strong bones, keeping a healthy blood pressure and weight control. One interesting fact, fig trees have natural latex which some people might be allergic to.

Have you ever walked in your neighborhood, and came to a house that you have never noticed before? Wondering how you missed it when it is on your way in and out off your neighborhood on daily bases!!!Walking for me is not just a way to stay healthy, it also helps me think, and relax. It is also a perfect time for me to take pictures, as it is one of my hobbies. Many times walking by a building, I have noticed landscaping that was new and unique, or have noticed flowers and shrubs in colors and layout that was beautiful, and triggered a new motivation in me to try new things in my own garden.
I know as we drive we only pay attention to traffic around us, and we seldom have the chance to see trees, flowers or even the new stop sign that one morning popped up without any warnings. Walking to the grocery store or getting my family away from the mesmerizing electronics is a weakly event, and it always helps us enjoy the outdoors, and talk more, and laugh more. 🙌 🌞
I took this video around 8am. The night before it rain constantly through the night, and we woke up to a heavy fog lingering and floating the entire morning. I hope you enjoy watching the beautiful view🌤
I know every entertainment idea is not a good idea for all of us, but a few can make us all busy and happy at the same time.
Here are a few fun ones :
Cooking & Baking🥖🍳🍝
Gardening ( cleaning the yard )🌷
Time on social media🤪
By now we are all aware of the fact that being cut off from all social interactions is necessary in order to stay healthy. The fact that Corona virus can seriously harm people with health issues and the elderly, is a very frightening fact. Every time I hear the number of corona virus victims I am deeply sad for all involved.
Helping others to keep their positive attitude helps us too. Checking on our elderly relatives, and neighbors, and reminding ourselves this is not forever.
Every year it only takes a few sunny days in mid forties to encourage the daffodils, hyacinths and other spring bulbs to sprout and show off their blooms unexpectedly. Since we all expect this unusual change in temperature in late winter, to save the blooms from the freeze we have to cover them with fabric and towels. This morning we all woke up to a beautiful steady snow shower that covered our spring blooms and reminded us that winter is still here and spring has to wait it’s turn.
I love long walks with or without my music playing in my ears. Walking with my family is a different walk, since I tend to walk slower and usually get engage in some kind of conversation.
This year I have paid More attention to my surroundings. I am guessing with dozens of new constructions I am more aware that the green land around where we live and walk is starting to shrink. My green and hilly views are turning into constructions sites, that are growing in number every month. How many mixed used structures do we need? This tends to be the trend in our city!!
My pictures of fall trees are beginning to mean more than capturing the foliage this year. I find myself thinking this year might me the last year I am at aww of their beauty and sense of forever strength.
I hope I am wrong, but for now I am taking as many pictures as I can. To remember how beautiful natures is, and how much we all need to be surrounded by its beauty.
